In the background of Chipmunk's current single "Diamond Rings" (see video below) is what sounds like a ska cover of surf classic "Pipeline" (as also covered by the likes of Anthrax & Hanoi Rocks among others)
Sounds like it ought to be by the Skatalites & try as I might I can't find it.
Now given that some ska bands of the period I think it belongs had a tendency to record covers of well known songs under different titles to the originals (Illya Kuryakin ( a rocksteady version of Theme From A Summer Place) by Ike Bennett & The Crystalites being a particular case ), I'm wondering if if was released under another title.
It's 'Miss-Ska-Culation' By Roland Al And The Soul Brothers.
Well done! I've been wracking my old rude boy brain all weekend over that.
The reggae folk are shockers for taking well known tracks and giving them different song titles and even no credit sometimes. They also do it the other way round. I bought what I thought was a reggae version of a famous film theme but it was some really stock dancehall track that bore no resemblance. Can't remember what was tho'

That's the right title, but I can only find a version by Yebo, which doesn't sound as dated (I mean it sounds like a newer recording & doesn't quite have that 60s ska vibe to it).
It'll have to do I suppose, unless anyone knows where I can lay my hands on a legal download of the Roland Al version
